What Causes Tinnitus?
The easy and short answer is NOISE. We live in a world where loud sounds are a part of our every day lives. Over 80 percent of those who have hearing loss or tinnitus have found it to be noise-induced.Other causes may include: high blood pressure, excessive drugs (harmful to hearing – aspirin, some antibiotics, anti-histimines) ear and sinus infections, ear obstructions from ear wax, head and neck trauma. Tinnitus can also be a symptom of stiffening of the middle ear bones (otosclerosis). Some tinnitus comes from damage to the microscopic ending of the hearing nerve in the inner ear. The health of these nerve endings is important for acute hearing, and injury to them brings on hearing loss and often tinnitus. Advancing age is generally accompanied by a certain amount of hearing nerve impairment and tinnitus. If you are younger, exposure to loud noise is probably the leading cause of tinnitus, and often damages hearing as well.
Is Surgery Recommended for Tinnitus?
Surgery is not recommended unless it is directed toward the excision of tumors or breaking scar tissue in otosclerosis disease of the middle ear.
How Long Does it Take to Get Real Results with Clarity²?
Unfortunately there is no “quick fix” for tinnitus. Some people experience a reduction in noise levels within two weeks, but for others it takes much longer. Most people shouldnotice a reduction of the ringing sound in 6 to 8 weeks. We recommend using Clarity² continuously for 4 months.
